Lacking Nothing

This week I was feeling extremely anxious about life, my career, my future, and everything under the sun. It got to the point where I was consumed by the uncertainty of what God has planned for me and I called my favorite prayer warrior.

For me, a prayer warrior is someone who unleashes something ferocious on your behalf when I can’t find the words to pray for myself. My favorite prayer warrior is my mother. This amazing woman of God is ALWAYS there to help calm me down and prepare me for whatever battle life is throwing at me at the moment. No, this isn’t a dramatic statement. My mother is such a blessing in my life. But after she finished praying for me, and I got a grip on reality, I thought I needed exact quotes from The Bible to remind me of who I am.
Below are the top 3 verses I continuously run to when I have to be reminded that I am a fearless, grown woman who doesn’t have to have it all figured out because she serves a God who does.
Hebrews 11:1 (NIV): Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
This is my favorite scripture in the world. It constantly reminds me that I can do what I want. It especially comes in handy when I get worried about my future and all that I want to accomplish. Faith reminds me that it’s already mine and I have to work hard and trust God to give it to me at the perfect time.
1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV): Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
I love this scripture because it reminds me that I ain’t nobody and God is always in control. It’s okay that I don’t know how next week, month, or year is going to play out because God does.
James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials knowing that testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
The key words in this scripture are “lacking nothing.” When I get anxious I remind myself that I am whole and complete and awesome and amazing because God is within me and I will not fail. I don’t lack anything. Whatever I’m worried about or working hard for is already mine because I lack nothing. I just have to trust God’s timing.
