I’m a YouTube addict. I proudly admit that. In fact, I’m planning to launch a YouTube channel soon! (More information coming next month.) To continue the celebration of Black History, I’ve highlighted 5 black women you should follow on YouTube.
Jackie is an OG youtuber. As one of the most foremost beauty influencers in the space, she recently hit 2 million followers *screams*, Jackie Aina consistently speaks out about inclusivity in the beauty industry. In fact, when I first started blogging, she inspired my B.O.M.B. makeup look.
Cydnee is my favorite Ipsy creator because she is the literal definition of adorable. I admire that while I’ve watched her YouTube journey she’s remained unequivocally true to herself.
“In The Details”
I love Alissa’s YouTube because of two things: lighting goals and detailed explanations on her makeup tutorials. YouTube can be quite an investment, especially when you make it big. Alissa’s channel is a clear portrayal of her investment in editing and photography equipment. Her videos look like a Sephora campaign. She just hit 1 million subscribers on YouTube and I’m sure that has something to do with the fact that each and every one of her video is a detailed lesson in makeup. You’ll learn product placement, brush facts, and techniques!
ItsMyRayeRaye | Raye Boyce
“The Palette Princess”
I love ItsMyRayeRaye. But by now, that should be obvious. Her BHCosmetics collab was one of my favorite makeup releases last year. Her channel is a refreshing mix of high-end and drugstore brands. With over 1.7 million YouTube subscribers, you’re wrong if you haven’t followed her.
MonicaStyleMuse | Monica
“Her Own Muse”
I’m new to the MonicaStyleMuse train but I’m so very happy to be aboard! I discovered her from watching ItsMyRayeRaye’s channel and haven’t stopped watching her since. As an AfroLatina, she incorporates Spanish and her Dominican Republic heritage into her makeup tutorials. Education on social issues AND a makeup tutorial? Duh. Follow her.
